CHEROKEE, IA. (February 16, 2009) – LUNDELL ENTERPRISES INC. has recently started their pelletizing technology at the Cherokee County Solid Waste landfill facility. The facility hopes to produce nearly 90 tons of pellets a day from almost 170 processed tons of municipal solid waste. The production of these fuel pellets will recover more of the marketable waste stream while considerably extending life of the landfill.

This is a monumental facility for the Lundell process and technology. With increasing fuel prices and regulation changes, this operation will be the footprint for many to follow, helping our nation solve the need for alternative energy.

Municipal solid waste fuel pellets consist of the non-recyclable papers and plastics in the waste stream. The toxic and high ash non-combustibles are separated producing an 8000 Btu/lb fuel that meets emission regulations.
